I'm Listening To:

july 2, 2025

really liking this album, i realized that i've never given it my full attention and i think it's an album that deserves it. tracks such as fling and backseat girl is so explosive and will make you wanna bang your head until it comes off. it's a pretty long record for a 10-track album and it's great! but i think some tracks do feel like it's overly dragged out.

Some of My Favorite Albums

Time 'n' Place - Kero Kero Bonito

i'm not quite sure if this is my favorite album of all time but all i know is that it's up there. this album will make you feel somber, but also very hopeful. sarah bonito, the vocalist of this album, provides such a cute addition to the album and it gives such a deeper layer to the sound. the album's theme ranges from waiting for the end, the feeling of despair, and looking at the rain, all expressed in a very optimistic tune. it's my first 10/10 album and i think it deserves even more love. also, LOOK at that album cover, it's super pleasant but so messy as well.

Imaginal Disk - Magdalena Bay

this is an album that you will not be able to digest in its entirety. every single time you listen to it, there's always something new that it delivers. it's honestly so impressive that this released only in 2024. the production of this entire album is phenomenal, it's a whole trip from beginning to end. when you think you've taken a breath from the album, nope, they'll hit you with something bigger every single time! tracks watching tv, tunnel vision, and cry for me are some of the best songs i've ever listened to. can't wait for their next few projects, i hope they top this one but i honestly don't see it being topped.

Nurture - Porter Robinson

do i really need an explanation for this one? i'm pretty sure that it explains itself. this was the first album i think i've listened to where i full on sobbed due to how beautiful the production is. from beginning to end, this album is a masterpiece. this album starts us off with a very pleasant tune, lifelike; it's almost welcoming us into the journey that we're about to take in. this album gives such further depths with the more experimental and ambient sounds tracks like wind tempos, do-re-mi-fa-so-la-ti-do, and dullscythe. but, ultimately, the real winners here are also the ones that made me hard sob the most: musician, mother, and unfold. i won't explain the sounds much because i really want everyone to experience it for themselves.

Honorable Mentions

Did You Know That There's A Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd? - Lana Del Rey

her most authentic project yet. love this sound from her, i hope she keeps it up. opening tracks are so fucking good.

Fe3O4:Forward - NMIXX

not an album, but still wanna shed some light into it. most experimental k-pop record i've seen. every second is beautiful.

When the pawn hits the conflicts he thinks like a king. What he knows throws the blows when he goes to the fight and he'll win the whole thing 'fore he enters the ring. There's nobody to batter when your mind is your might so when you go solo you hold your own hand and remember that depth is the greatest of heights and if you know where you stand then you know where to land and if you fall it won't matter 'cause you'll know that you're right
- Fiona Apple

you know i just had to put the entire title. jokes aside, wonderful album. so strong and so passionate, it's like she handcrafts the sound.
